A shared bench, literally: these guides are the taped-up notes of people who make shows, kept where the next person can use them.

What this bench believes

Three things, and every page answers to them. Prevention beats processing: the recording guides come first because a clean take needs no lane. Math beats adjectives: every workflow ends at the same worksheet, computed from list prices on printed assumptions — “affordable” is not a number. Free means free: when the $0 lane covers a show, the page says so and stops selling.

Who’s at the bench

The byline is “from the PodPolish bench” because that’s the honest unit: a small crew of working creators writing up what actually survives contact with a Tuesday-night edit. No invented audio-engineer persona, no stock-photo studio. What we claim is checkable: settings from the tools’ own documentation, prices from their pricing pages, re-checked with dates (this pass: July 30, 2026).

When we’re wrong

Prices move and menus get renamed. If a worksheet number or a settings path has drifted, tell the bench: [email protected]. Confirmed fixes get re-computed and dated — a worksheet you can’t trust is just decor.

The rent

Some tool links pay a commission — labelled on the tin every time, itemized in the sponsor note, and structurally incapable of bending a worksheet: the math is computed from list prices before any recommendation box exists.
